On Friday, July 31st, 2015 Sylvia’s Restaurant celebrated their 53rd Anniversary by providing free meals and music to the community as well as honoring Sylvia’s long time staff member, Ma Mae.
(REC) C.E.O. and Harlem native Robyn Willard, who is also the Great Grandchild of Cleo Wells – the historic owner of the Wells restaurant and pioneer of Chicken and Waffles; commissioned her Artist S. Whittaker to paint a special piece for retiring waitress Ma Mae. Ma Mae has given her services to Sylvia’s Restaurant for 40 years and has become a staple in Sylvia’s legacy. We wish all the best to Ma Mae and thank the Sylvia’s organization for all they continue to do for the Harlem community.
To add live art at any event can be one of the most suiting, relaxing, refreshing way to entertain guests. S. Whittaker and Robyn Willard were apart of a charity event at Harlem Hospital Center.
